When your Site Administrator enables Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on your account, you will have to configure your 2FA the next time you log in or when registering for the first time. Depending on the settings used, you will either be presented with the options to use an authenticator app or SMS, or strictly SMS only, or strictly an authenticator app only.
This article presents the steps from the perspective of our default setting: authenticator app or SMS. If either one of these options has been enforced by your Site Administrator you will be automatically skipping Step 1.2 — Step 1.3 for authenticator app only or Step 2.3 — Step 2.4 for SMS.

Option 1. Authenticator App (Highly Recommended)
1.1 Log in / Register.1.2 Click the RADIO BUTTON for the Google Authenticator App option.
TIP: you do not have to use Google Authenticator as any authenticator app that supports time-based one-time passwords or HMAC-based one-time passwords will work
1.3 Click CONTINUE.
1.4 If you do not have one, download a compliant authenticator app onto your mobile device.
EXAMPLES: Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, LastPass Authenticator, Authy, Bitwarden, Yubico Authenticator, 1Password, Duo
1.5 Using your app of choice, scan the QR code displayed on the Prevalent portal.
1.6 Click the "Verification Pin Code" FIELD and enter the pin code.
1.7 Click CONFIRM SETUP.

1.8 Until an Admin removes the 2FA requirement on your account, you will need to use 2FA to log in.
Option 2. SMS (Short Message Service/Text Messaging)
2.1 SMS is not secure for authentication due to:
- SMS messages not being encrypted.
- risk of your SIM card being stolen or cloned.
- hackers ability to spoof, replace, alter or receive your SMS text messages.
2.3 Click the RADIO BUTTON for the SMS option.
2.4 Click CONTINUE.
2.5 Click the "Country" FIELD.
2.6 Click on the NAME of your Country from the drop-down.
2.7 Click the "Phone Number" FIELD.
2.8 Enter in the phone number for the mobile device you would like to use.
2.9 Click GENERATE CODE.

2.10 Click on the "Verification Code" FIELD.
2.11 Enter in the code sent to your mobile device.
2.12 Click CONTINUE.
